The National Academy of Social Insurance is pleased to offer two writing prizes which recognize superb scholarship:
- Law Student Writing Award for an Outstanding Paper on Social Insurance: The Academy’s new Law Student Writing Award, sponsored by the Borchard Foundation Center on Law and Aging, is designed to recognize and promote outstanding research and analysis by law students addressing the impact of the law on social insurance policy questions, especially those that address aging
- John Heinz Dissertation Award: This award is designed to recognize and promote outstanding doctoral research by new scholars addressing social insurance policy questions. John Heinz served in the U.S. Senate from 1977 until his death in 1991. The Award has been sponsored by the Heinz Family Philanthropies since 1993.
Each award is bestowed at NASI's annual policy research conference in Washington, D.C.
