Anna Rappaport is a consultant, speaker, and author on strategies for a secure retirement and aging workforce issues. She has been a member of the National Academy of Social Insurance (NASI) since 1993 and is the new chair of the NASI Membership Committee. She retired from Mercer Human Resources Consulting, where she was a Worldwide partner. She had been with Mercer since 1976.

Previously, she served as Vice President of the Equitable Life Insurance Society of the United States. Prior to that, she was Senior Vice President and Chief Actuary of the Standard Security Life insurance Company of New York. Rappaport is a Fellow of the Society of Actuaries, a member of the American Academy of Actuaries and an Enrolled Actuary. She served as President of the Society of Actuaries in 1997–1998.
Rappaport’s goals today are heavily linked to her interest in making a difference with regard to retirement security in America, particularly for women alone.
Rappaport has written many articles and papers, dealing with topics of women and retirement, pension planning, employer sponsored retiree medical benefits, and other related issues. In 2005, she chaired the Society of Actuaries Committee on Post-Retirement Needs and Risks and completed her term as Chair of the Consumer Education Committee. Rappaport is a member of the boards of several organizations, including the Actuarial Foundation, Pension Research Council, and WISER. Rappaport now serves on NASI’s Board of Directors. She received her M.B.A. from the University of Chicago.
