The Academy hosted a 40th Anniversary Gala on the evening of June 9 in Washington, DC. The evening brought together Members, partners, and leaders from across sectors to honor the Academy’s legacy and look ahead to what’s next.

Launched in collaboration with the Roosevelt Institute, the Disability Economic Policy Research Consortium convenes thought leaders and experts to explore what’s needed to break the persistent link between disability and poverty.

On August 13, the Academy hosted a virtual event featuring young leaders and advocates who discussed why Social Security matters to them.

On July 15, the Academy was joined by Jim Roosevelt, Congressman Danny Davis, and Social Security Commissioner Frank Bisignano for a wreath laying ceremony at the FDR Memorial outside the National Archives.

On March 13, the Academy hosted a briefing on DOGE’s recent SSA cuts for current and future beneficiaries, featuring former SSA Commissioners Martin O’Malley and Michael Astrue and a bipartisan panel of Academy experts.

The fifth panel at the Academy’s 2025 Policy Summit brought together experts from the Academy’s membership to discuss AI use at the Social Security Administration and at other federal agencies.
