All active members are invited to attend the 2015 annual meeting of the National Academy of Social Insurance. Join colleagues and members of the Board of Directors for lunch at the National Press Club in Washington, DC on Wednesday, January 28, as we review the Academy’s accomplishments and look ahead to exciting developments.

In addition to serving as an important opportunity for conversations with fellow members and with the Academy’s leadership, this year’s luncheon meeting will highlight the Academy’s important role in developing future leaders in social insurance. The event will include two special award presentations:

The 23rd John Heinz Dissertation Award will be presented by Academy President Larry Atkins. (View a list of previous Heinz Dissertation Award winners.)

The inaugural Law Student Writing Award aims to distinguish and encourage outstanding research and analysis by law students addressing the impact of law on social insurance policy questions. Academy Board member Renee Landers, Chair of the 2015 Award Committee and Professor of Law and Faculty Director of the Health and Biomedical Law Concentration at Suffolk University Law School, will present the award.

Since the Academy’s founding, developing future generations of leaders has been critical to our impact on social insurance policymaking. Long-time members, as well as newly-inducted members who will be introduced at the 2015 meeting, will have an opportunity to participate in an important conversation about new opportunities to develop the next generation of leaders in social insurance.

Note: This event is held in conjunction with the Academy’s 2015 annual conference on Medicare and Medicaid: The Next 50 YearsHowever, registration for the membership meeting is separate from the conference.
